TERMS & CONDITIONS

These terms and conditions of trading apply to all contracts between Chequers (the company, us, we, our) and the customer (you, your). The order (furniture, goods). All orders are subject to our terms and conditions. These conditions do not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.

PRODUCT

  1. All descriptions of our products are correct at the time of print.
  2. All goods are subject to availability.
  3. We cannot be held accountable for the accuracy of information on this website. Images, prices and descriptions are all subject to change without notice.

MEASUREMENTS/DIMENSIONS

  1. All measurements are rounded up to the nearest centimetre and are approximate.
  2. The customer should inform us of any access problems before delivery.
  3. The company cannot accept responsibility for your furniture not fitting into your home.

PRICES
  1. The prices stated are inclusive of VAT at the current rates and are correct at the time of print.
  2. The company reserves the right to amend a pricing or product description error without any liability on our part.

PACKAGING AND DELIVERY

  1. The company reserves the right to package and deliver your order in a manner deemed acceptable by us.
  2. The company aims to deliver your order within 7 working days from receipt of full payment. Free delivery applies to United Kingdom mainland only. In certain areas of Scotland, Wales and South West England we will endeavour to deliver as soon as possible. In these areas we may send one man for delivery and ask that the customer assist with the delivery. An additional fee may be quoted for areas outwith our normal free delivery zones.
  3. When delivering overseas or to islands within the UK, we will send a delivery driver. The customer must therefore provide assistance to unload and place the furniture.
  4. If we are unable to deliver your order within the stated time we will refund your payment in full until we are able to deliver your order. The company will not be obliged to offer any compensation for disappointment suffered.
  5. If the customer accepts a delivery date which is then not met by the customer, a cost of £95.00 will be incurred to the customer for re-delivery.
  6. Before and during delivery the customer is responsible for ensuring a clear route/pathway to the area of placement. We cannot be held liable for any damage to other furniture or pictures/mirrors during the delivery process.
  7. It is the responsibility of the customer to measure the route the furniture will take and compare this with the measurements on the web pages to ensure the furniture will fit. We cannot accept liability for any damage to the customers property during the delivery process due to tight access.
  8. Goods must be inspected thoroughly by the customer before accepting delivery.
  9. Deliveries require a signature to confirm safe delivery of your order.

GUARANTEES/WARRANTY
  1. Our furniture is covered by an 18 month guarantee on the construction of the frames assuming normal domestic use. It does not cover wear and tear items such as zips, foam fillings, leather creasing, stretching or tearing. In the unlikely event of a manufacturing fault, furniture will be repaired and not refunded.
  2. We cannot accept liability for any damage to our furniture transported by another party.
  3. Furniture for export is checked and double-wrapped for extra protection before it leaves our warehouse.
  4. For the purpose of warranty on exported furniture, it is the responsibility of the customer to return the furniture to mainland United Kingdom at their expense. Similarly, it is at the customers' expense to transport any replacements or returns out of mainland United Kingdom thereafter.
  5. Any items given free of charge or on special discount will not be covered by any warranty or guarantee.
  6. In the unlikely event of any warranty repairs, if it is found that damage has been caused by misuse or neglect the cost of repair will be chargeable to the customer.
  7. Details of how to take care of your furniture will be supplied.
  8. Leather and wood are natural products and will react to excessive heat and light, as detailed in our care instructions.

PAYMENT

  1. The company requests either full payment or a 20% deposit with your order which can be paid either by credit/debit card or cheque. If paying by cheque we would require cleared funds before delivery could commence.
  2. If applicable the balance is due at the time of delivery and is normally deducted from your credit/debit card the day before delivery. Payment can also be made at the time of delivery in the form of cash. If you would prefer to pay by cheque we would require cleared funds before delivery could commence.
  3. All credit/debit cardholders are subject to validation checks and authorisation by the card issuer. If the issuer of your payment card refuses or does not for any reason authorise payment to us, we will not be liable for any delay or non-delivery.
  4. Payment security is of the utmost importance to us. We use a secure transaction system. This system utilises a high level of encryption when handling sensitive data from your credit/debit card.
  5. All items of furniture remain the property of the company until payment has been received in full.

PRICE MATCH

  1. A price match can only be provided on current prices. A price comparison must come from a recognised, reputable, legally trading UK furniture retailer.
  2. We cannot price match discontinued goods, damaged goods, second hand or shop floor models.
  3. The price match is non-transferable.

CANCELLATIONS/RETURNS

  1. If you are unhappy with your furniture and return it on the delivery van it arrived in, we will refund the total cost of your furniture. However, this does not apply to clearance items or any special orders direct from our factory. For overseas Cancellations/Returns, see Guarantees/Warranty section, point 4.
  2. If you are unhappy with your furniture within 7 days, we will refund the cost of the furniture but charge a collection fee of £95.00. Furniture for return must be in perfect, re-saleable condition, and will be closely inspected by our management staff on its return to our warehouse. Alternatively furniture can be returned at clients own expense, but must arrive in its original perfect condition, and will be closely inspected by our management staff on its return to our warehouse. This return policy does not apply to any special orders direct from our factory.

PRIVACY STATEMENT

  1. Your right to privacy is very important to us and we therefore respect that right by never sending your details to a third party.
